Default Radiator changed...

They replaced my radiator, but now I get cold and hot air (fluctuating) from the vents (with heating full on). Engine does not overheat.

What could it be? Air in the system? Thanks for all the help.

I have no idea... I am not sure what the procedures iare involved in changing the radiator.

I will take it to the body shop again tomorrow, hoping they know what they are doing. Are there any pointers as to what might have gone wrong?

Thanks! Apparently this is common problem. A search on "radiator bleed" or "radiator heater" brought up many useful threads... Who knew?

I told the mechanic that the hose between radiator and heater matrix is a natural air trap. However, I have no idea how to get the air out... I don't have much choice but to trust them at this point...

yep, trust being the key word. i really don't like doing stuff myself, 'cause i'm lazy but so far everything that's been done has been done by me 'cause i just can't trust anybody. i can't see paying somebody a thousand dollars and then they half azz it. everybody in my area sucks and are lazy. so, i've gotten very familiar with the S...

There should be a bleeder valve on top of your thermostat, although I could be totally wrong. I know there is one on my Acura and this is a procedure I did recently. If this is the case, then it is a very simple task and there is probably no reason to take it to a mechanic.

Well, I just called the mechanic. He said he searched online and found how to do it. I will pick it up next morning.

I hit a rather high curb... It was raining, it was dark. The car was in the body shop for 3 weeks. When I picked up the car, I notice two issues: This one, and a sound from the bearings.

New bearings are installed. And hopefully, this will be resolved as well. Considering how well they did with the bodywork, I think they will figure out the radiator issue as well. I will report back...
