bought my s2 used got a deal i couldnt pass up. car is perfect. only thing is i dont have the serial number for the radio. what happens when i go to change the battery? i read in the manual that a number has to be put in to get the radio to work again. is there and easy way to get the serial number without pulling the radio out?

i believe Honda dealers have a way to look it up.

went to honda dealer and they told me they would have to pull the radio at a cost of course

They need to pull the radio to get the radio's serial number. Then they just look it up in their computers. Bad customer service on their part to charge for two minutes or work, but I guess they don't want you as a repeat customer, eh? You can try a different dealership, or pull the radio yourself and ask a cooperative dealership to simply look up the serial number...

If you have to spend the money anyway, just get an aftermarket head unit. The factory one is a joke.

Just take the radio out yourself. It takes about ten minutes to do it.

Just follow these instructions:

I had the same problem. I took the radio out and went to dealership and they looked up the radio code (free of charge).

But before you do that, check the secret compartment to see if there is a little plastic card with the radio code. I read other threads where owners have found the card in the secret compartment.
