Can't rtfm at this time, so thought I'd ask how to reset the radio. I never set the code so thought was safe to disconnect battery when doing tb replacement. Now radio just says "code" on display and won't do squat.

BTW, engine idles fine, and havn't yet pushed it.

Have you entered the code from the card you got with your car?

I got a card with the car but it was still in plastic wrap and looked like code was never set. There are stickum numbers that could have been used, but none have.

Thanks.

From the Service Manual, p. 22-87:

1. Make sure that you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the radio's preset buttons.

2. Remove ...
3. Remove ...
4. Disconnect ...
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

6. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.

You do still have the card with the code on it that the dealer gave you don't you?

Thanks, Tom. I went out to the car in the parking lot and retreived the card. It has the self stick labels not yet placed on the card; I thought code was not set, but obviously there is a code and I now have it. I will do the reset stuff and maybe even rtfm when I get home to the tricks or treaters!

Yeah, you don't actually set the code, that's done at the factory. You just need it to re-enable the radio.

a minor inconvenience, but glad I have the code now

This post is fairly pointless, but that's never stopped me before.

Aus S2000's radio's are radio cassette, with CD changer in the boot standard. They don't have a security code.

Apparently US one's do.

When I decided to upgrade my stereo I checked out the Sony with the flip face. The dealer had to enter the security code to get it going. Great!

So I order my Sony from Pinky in the US. Guess what! No security code required. The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
