I didn't want to pay the dealer to remove my radio to get the code for the code . Customer Service tells me that they will provide it if I fax them a letter with the code's code and proof of ownership.

 

The original dealer SHOULD have the codes on every car they sold. I bought my GSR used from a Honda dealer with the radio locked and, lucky me, I coincidentally took it to the original Acura dealer for an unlock. Instead of gouging me on removing the radio for a look-see at the label they coughed up the code instantly for free! That sure made me a loyal fan of their service department.

 

Bah! I hate those things! I'd have better luck with a yellow sticky note attached to my monitor at work. I think I have some stickies on my monitor dating back to frickin' 1997. Don't know what the numbers on them mean, but it MUST be something important! Do you know where YOUR radio code is, Sheila?? Hmmmm?

I wrote the radio code with a sharpie on a normally not visible piece of interior sheetmetal. Always available after a battery disconnect.

Like somebody is going to steal that POS Honda radio...
