"radmat" intake insulation pics?

Default "radmat" intake insulation pics?

just did a search and it seems all the pics for the "radmat" intake insulation are dead...does anyone have any pics of this mod? i really dont wanna go the CAI route, and ive read that the stock airbox is actually better anyways...but i do want to insulate it to repel heat from the engine bay

You are simply wrapping your radiator with water heater insulation. The original pics are dead from Xviper's thread, but there are two pictures down further in the thread.

^^^it's hard to see in the above picture (but can be seen in the link), but he also insulated inside the airbox.

What are you trying to accomplish with this mod? I hope it's not keeping the intake cool. Even if you reduce radiant heat, there is so much more conductive heat coming through the head, intake manifold etc.

I guess busy hands are happy hands though.

Not sure, someone tested the temps on the intake and said it did make a difference.
