I bought the Bosch ones about 2 weeks after I bought my car. They work well enough, but it seems like they rub a little too hard on the windshield; so much so that it streaks the water across the windshield when it wipes. I don't know if it's just my windshield (maybe I new windshield) but they just seem to rub too hard against the windshield.

I like the Valeo ones from Tire Rack. I think they still have the buy one get one free deal. The only thing I notice with these is that on the passenger side, it misses the very end of the windshield. Do the Bosch ones have the same issue? Its not much, maybe half an inch long at the bottom and it hits full contact about 2 or 3 inches up from the bottom.
Yes, they do; but very little. Almost negligible. The Rain-X is way, way worse.

And it's not just about that. Rain-X latitudes do not "hug" the windshield. They merely "touch" the windshield. They won't push water effectively. The Bosh Icon's seem to "stick" to the windshield, and they push away whatever they have in front. It's difficult to describe, but it is very noticeable.

As far as I know, Bosch Icon's were the first bracketless wiper blade design. This is just a speculation; but it seems to me that Rain-X people did not want to stay behind, and quickly put out a product that looks similar, priced similar... They wanted market presence, and wanted it quick! Quality, function and design suffered badly.

Does it leave behind a thin trail of water after it passes through? I have an issue with my current PIAA super silicones where a small sliver of water will be leftover after it wipes, no matter how many times I run it. It's like there is a "hole" that the wipers can't reach on the windshield. I wanted to switch to the Bosch Icons to fix this

I love the Icons, they work PERFECT for me. Leave a perfectly dry swath and make no noise, no matter how little water is on the windshield.

Valeo makes the Bosch wipers. They make wipers for many companies and are an OEM supplier.

I had the ICONs on my miata, and had the issue with the outer edge not making contact, so I opted to go another route on the S2000 (any my wife's car) with the PIAA Super Silicone. Seem to be working well so far, though they aren't quite as cool looking I suppose.
I've been using them as well. They aren't cool looking but good so far.

I use the cheapest set of generic name wipers plus Aquapel. Beats any wiper brand/type by itself. Typically wipers remain unused, especially with a recent (less than 3 month old) coating of Aquapel on the glass.
