Default Random: AP2 = AE111 + RX8?

Have been seeing a lot of AE111 Truenos on the streets lately, and then makes me wonder whether the 2004+ S2Ks are AE111 + RX8? The tail and head lights from those cars look similar to those of the S!

I actually got mistaken once on the street when I saw an AE111 at night. I got a bit excited and thought it's an S2K ... but when I got close ...

Hehe ... just something random

That's pretty funny and I see the similiarities. Many of us on the board are from the states and the Levin isn't here. In fact, I've never even seen pictures of that car before.

We see lots of RX8s, but maybe because I see them so often, I'm used to what they look like. I do admit, some colors of RX8s coming from far away appear to be S2000s to me.

I'd like to see the front of that Ae111...Could care less about the Rx-8's, too many running around.

There is one on the island here in Victoria. I saw it a couple of days ago and thought WTF is that. I came home and looked it up.

This is just some generic picture I found on the net:

Levin looks like a wannabe R32 to me hehe.
I like it though.

Thanks for posting the pic KS320.

The front has no similarity with the S, the rear tail lights have a little similarity.

The front has more in common with an Nissan R32 than the S...IMO.

By body style it looks like a early to mid 90's car. What year were those made?

Are those only FWD? I figured that they would make a RWD version comparable to the Trueno Ae86?

Yeah, they are only FWD. Big disappointment after the 86.

yes i believe it was sold for the 95-2000 model years. all truenos after the ae86 were fwd (ae92, ae101, ae111). that is why the ae86 is so beloved, despite being so old and junky. all truenos had great engines, tho. the ae101 and ae111 had a 1.6 liter 4a-ge engine with 5 valves per cylinder, itbs, vvti, and it made 160 hp hooked up to a 6 speed tranny. it was way beyond it's time when it was first introduced in 91, but was unfortunately fwd. kinda like toyota's civic si.
