Dings on the Suzuka are a PITA, the color flops on even the smallest one and makes it look bigger than it actually is.

I had a guy in an old white ford truck that gave me the finger through his rear view mirror for absolutely no reason!
I wasn't even driving fast. When we pulled to a red light I saw him checking out my blue s, he shook his head and then flipped me off!

Maybe he didn't like my suzuka blue "S" badge from Rick's!

(no racial offense intended, just a quote), "Rice!", "F-you!"(usually followed by hand gestures), "Mommy and Daddy buy you that car?"(I'm 28) and "Small penis!".

I have also had someone piss on the front of my car when it was parked, I've have had a couple kids spit in my car when I passed them and someone threw a coke can at me (I called the police on those ones).

All of these occurances are rare and the verbal compliments/conversation and complimenting stares/thumbups outweigh them dramatically.

Damn, those are some fierce comments! I was out driving this weekend down the main street of a small town in western NC. I was at a stop light when 3 teen males walked by on the sidewalk. I heard one of them say to the others, "That's a cool looking car." As I drove off, I heard one of them yell "Faggot!" Oh well, I guess you have to take the good with bad.

I think it all comes from an underlying jealousy. For some reason they are jealous of what you have, in my opinion, the S2000 looks more expensive than it really is, people make this assumption and judge your societal status based on their misconception/misunderstanding of reality.

A $30k car isn't that expensive when compared to the other "luxury" options out there but the S2000 does look better than most of them.

Wow! Where do you folks live? Here in NASCAR Land I've had nothing but good reactions.

My favorite was the little old couple that wanted to see in the trunk---they thought it was a great car and wanted to check out storage. I've always wondered if they went and priced them out after that...

I've been yelled at to upshift as well. Some lady was watering her lawn, and I was driving through the neighborhood in 1st gear...as I pass, she yells "2nd gear".

Other than that, I haven't noticed any derogatory verbal comments, but I do get the usual hard wannabe thug stares when pulling into stores and such. I've also had a pencil thrown at me once, which was interesting.

All in all, I don't care. If it doesn't damage me or my property, I don't give a damn. Verbal comments are just the outward expression of little temporal electrical action potentials in someone's brain, and after that brief moment, they're gone forever, with no lasting impact, kind of like a fart. So, yeah, I don't care. =)

I've had a group of 6th or 7th grade boys see my car outside of a pizza place & comment on how cool the car was. Then they proceded to ask for a ride (which I politely said "no") and then they even said they'd pay for a ride in it. I still said "no" at that point.
