Real life Specs for the S2000
Hi All,
I am having a heated discussion in regard to the specs and the then ability for an S2000 to beat a WRX in a standing start or for that matter in a race situation.
Having just bought my S2000 i can't argue too much. But i have owned a WRX and my oppinion at this stage is that there is little if any difference between the two from a standing start, point to point perspective.
Can someone tell me some real 0-100Km (0-60 mph) times not Honda specs and also provide some real life experience/oppinions on this matter..
Thanks
PS I do believe the S2000 handles better even though it is not an all wheel drive after putting it to the test on the weekend.

I got 5.8 to 60...14.209 @96.56 1/4 mile.completely stock w/39k MY01. Dont know about WRX I have never driven one...I do have to say a slightly modded WRX>>$$$$ in the right places would easily smoke a S2000 from Dig. They are fast on track too..Much easier to drive very fast. AWD can absorb alot of driver error, however on a roadcourse an S2000 and skillful driver with proper setup I dont see a WRX being able to keep up.
Considering both stock. A well launched WRX will beat the S2K off the line every single time about one to two car lenthgs. But the S2K will catch the WRX and start pulling on it in 2nd gear and eventually pass it in 3rd. From a rolling start, the S2K will pull immediantly.
The S is made for the twisties, not for drag racing! Who cares how fast it is off the line (especially compared to an off-road autocross car, the WRX)? Treat your S right and don't drag with it.
there is no car that is made for drag racing.......Launched right the S doesnt do to bad, granted it is not good for the car but it isnt good for any car.....however why do people always say that when a question like this is asked? I would say the same as above pass in top end of second, the wrx will have shifted to third and on the freeway stock Vs stock the wrx will get owned......This is all top up of coarse....top down changes everything!

I owned a WRX with a Scoobysport downpipe and exhaust and it could beat an S2000 off-the-line everytime, but I wouldn't feel as confident in the handling compared to the S2000. The WRX feels a little soft and the ABS pumps too easily and is annoying... The S2000 isn't a good off-the-line car.

"A well launched WRX will beat a WELL LAUNCHED S2K off the line every single time." And by 2-3 car lengths? To what speed? We all know that it's hard to launch an S2K well and we all know that it's not good for it so that's why most owners don't "launch" their cars. But let's qualify things before we make such blanket statements. What if each and every owner knew how to launch an S2K WELL? Then what? I doubt you'd see you 2-3 cars lengths.
ps. And how many GOOD launches will a WRX endure before it starts to fracture 1/2 shafts just like the old AWD TT Stealths used to?
