But I do agree with everyone about the artist's concept in this post: Not likely an S, considering the lineage of the S being all roadsters. A new S that didn't look radically different from the AP1/2 with a hybrid version of the C32B would be bad ass! Especially if they could keep the curb weight after full fluids below 2,800lb..

My point was, Honda doesn't *HAVE* to put a 3000cc in a car they named the "S3000" (if that ever happened) because drumroll.... they haven't followed that nomenclature throughout the years as proved by my 2200cc'd s2000.

(even the s800 didn't technically have quite a 800cc motor either, though, 790 is obviously very close).

Thanks . I'm not hatin on the AP2 drivers either, dont get that idea. I just don't and never will get the big deal about the F22's torque band: I drove an 07 with 10k on the odo and said then, and now, that there is such a
small difference in mid range that 99.9% of people would NEVER notice. It's not at all better than an F20 other than it doesn't burn oil due to a better machining process. Even car and driver admitted in 04 when they tested the ap2v1 that the S had LOST some performance with the updates. If THEIR butt dynos felt a difference, it's definitely there. Just saying.

Testpipe/HFC + tune on the F22 grants 20-25 ft-lb from low 4000s to 6000 rpm making the car an absolute night and day difference, with far more torque than the F20. I know it's stock vs. modded, but I like to get this information out there as much as possible for everyone with an AP2. The AP1s won't gain nearly this amount of torque for under $1k spent.

For someone like me who has the above done + increased redline along with the custom tune, there is no argument whatsoever for the AP1/F20. It only has 500 more rpm in the top end, and considerably lower power/torque in the midrange. All this is to say, the F22 is the superior motor all said and done. Stock vs. stock there may be little difference, but once you start modding the extra displacement really helps it rise above.

Enough beating that dead horse By the way, I mean no offense by any of this. Just presenting information.

i love how almost every thread ends up turning into an AP1 vs. AP2 debate...shits kinda getting old...it is what it is, some people are AP1 people, some people are AP2 people, why cant we just leave it at that instead of always turning it into a pissing contest?
