I changed mine for the first time at 10k and it was definitely due.
how do you know this? and please don't say it's because of how it "looked" or "smelled" or "felt". I will assume you had a used oil analysis done?

The OEM diff fluid is going to look like absolute hell. blueish and metallic.. also going to smell like complete ass due to the high sulfer content. You will not be able to tell by looking, smelling, feeling that the fluid is in need of a change unless you see chunks of metal.. but then you have bigger problems

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I'm at 3,795 miles right now and will probably due the diff fluid change soon just to be on the safe side. then every 15k after.

I'll take a look at the DIY, but I am not a good mechanic and worry about working on the car myself, especially while its under warranty.

If I can do it, you can do it. Just follow the DIY and make sure you have everything you need before you start.

I agree. I just did the oil and tranny fluid in my car and I've never changed tranny fluid before. It was super easy. I'm just waiting for the diff fluid and plan to change that this week too. Just read the DIY, get the right tools, and it's a piece of cake.

I changed mine at 33 miles when I got home from the dealership. I changed the rear diff and tranny to Mobil1..then changed the engine oil over to reg mobil and installed a magnetic drain plug. Hope to change to full syn engine oil at around 8K miles or so. I changed the engine oil three time since I have had the car. ~3 weeks and at 2k miles. I picked up a couple metal shavings when I checked the drain plug..I think the mobil1 oil filter caught most of them.

my 2 cents

If your a novice and don't feel comfortable DIY, take it somewhere that you can watch them do it once. After that you'll be good to go. Have fun and make sure you take your own quart of diff oil that you've chosen to use.

I did mine at about 13,000 miles. I brought a bottle of LE607 and had the dealer do it (the same dealer who switched me over to synthetic and told me that all S2000s come standard with synth ). I think the charge was ~$30 for the diff fluid change. Definitely worth the time for me since I park my car in a city garage and can't do any fixes myself.

I've done a radiator swap, oil changes, brake pad changes, and an exhaust install in a garage before
