Default Rear End is feeling Loose.. What can it be?

Ok, so the rear of the car feels like it is unstable, especially on the highway.. It just feels like it wants to slide around a little. My tires are 3K miles old, and had an alignment about 5 months ago.

What can it be?

Any suggestions? I appreciate any help.

Thanks

Check your tire pressures.

I'd guess it's your alignment. 5 months is plenty of time for it to stray from its previous settings.

I thought S2000's held aligment pretty well??? My first alignment was odne at 15K miles, and the car drove perfect even before that.....

Did you replace the tires with the factory spec RE050's or did you make a change? Also, did the problem start after the alignment or much later. Are you running the RE050's in a cold environment?

Do you have copies of all of your alignment spec sheets? Maybe someone didnt know what they were doing. Compare the after specs if you can. If you can scan and put them here or something I can tell you haow close they are. See if the specs are correct.
Could also be a newby tire changer put the "max inflation" psi in the tire.
What kind of tires are they? When does it feel loose only in a turn or straight line also? or does it feel like a defective tire? slipped belt already? It happens. could make the rear track out in the wrong direction.

I will try and get a scan of the specs... It only started about a week ago...

I am running Fuzion ZRi 225/45/17- front and 255-40-17 in back I think those are the sizes.. I basically went up one size, as many people have done with the '04-'05 wheels.. They actually handle pretty well compared to the OEM Bridgestones...

I live in Florida, so it is mainly in warm weather....

It only feels loose going in a striaght line, but it feeles like if I let go of the wheel, the car will move side to side.... It just does not feel stable!

How would I know if I had a slipped belt in my tire?

Edited correct tire sizes.....

Check your tie rods and bushings. If those are worn your alignment will go out of spec after a while.
