Besides looking so cool,what sort of effect do these have on the car??

depends on which one you get-- some aren't functional. some provide downforce which increases stability but can adversely affect acceleration.

Some wings create downforce, but to buy a wing for a street car you are pretty much buying it for the look of it IMO.

F1 cars have enough downforce to drive upside down in a tunnel or something

im sure the S2000 OEM spoiler has the same capabilities

i'd have to say looks. thats the only function i can think of... there are a few though that actually provide downforce.
