Default recommend shop to install parts near reston va

Hi!

I'm looking for a shop / mechanic that will install aftermarket bolt on parts for my S2k. Preferably one that will allow me to watch them work on my car.

I talked to the dealers but their policy disallow customers to be in the shop work area..

Can anyone recommend me a place near Reston VA?

Thanks in advance...

Kai

Kai - what are you wanting to install? I'll do the work for you and let you watch... $45 per hour. I'm in the DC area, really close to reston, or if you would like I'll do the installs at your place, but cost will be $65/hr.

Let me know...I can install anything you have or can get your hands on.

John

Did you try Herson's Honda / Hondasport ... http://www.herson.com/hersonsport.html

They seem to be the most aftermarket-oriented dealer in the DC area ...

Hey, check out their homepage ... claim to have HONDA EURO CLEAR CORNERS for $29.00 ... something tells me this doesn't apply to the S2000 ...

Have fun,
Derek

Same could be said for just about every dealer ...

But, where else are you going to get a SC installed ... and have the car still be under warranty?

It should be noted that I've never dealt with Herson's ... I heard some people with good things to say about them ... and I've also heard the above.

Have fun,
Derel

That is a good point. Rosenthall is a good Honda dealer....Ourisman is ok...there is also one in Annapolis that is supposedly ok..

I have just heard so many horror stories about Herson's over the past 20 or so years. People that have bought cars from them and they have done the oil changes and the oil plug wasn't put in all the way, the motor burned up and they wouldn't cover it....just a few cases like that....

I may be negatively biased, but they will NEVER touch my car!

Rosenthal and Fairfax Honda will never touch my car again ... I've had very back experiences at both locations ... poor repair jobs ... and damage that occurred while they had my car (previous Hondas, not the s2k) ...

I've never dealt with Ourisman ... but yes, I've heard good things about them.

Just an FYI, check out https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=20632 ... a friend of mine sent me a list of shops that had been reviewed by an independent service (kind of like Consumer Reports ... but for services rather that products)

Have fun,
Derek

You might want to wait for Gregg to chime in, as I know he has had a TON of aftermarket stuff installed, as has 1RandyC, and they had to get it done somewhere....

As mentioned, stay away from Rosenthal at Tyson's.
Me and Gregg bought the car from there but we do not like to get our car serviced from them.

I can certainly recommend my mechanic who has done extensive works on my car. You can certainly watch him do the work, maybe you can assist along the way like I do

Here is what my mechanic has done on my S2000
All the basic maintenance, oil/filter change, coolant flush, airfilter..
Inspection, tires/wheels change.
Header/exaust install, including wrapping header.
Comptech supercharger install
Mugen intake install/cutting of the hood to accomodate the intake.
strut bar(front and rear), Spoon X-bar.
Spoon throttle body, Spoon iridium spark plugs/injectors
Adjustable fuel regulator.
Steering wheel removal(Rick's steering wheel)
Clearing headlight
Body kit install(not paint), Mugen hood, mugen rear wing, mugen ss2200 rear aero, Distinto front facia with fog light install.
Mugen clutch cover, Toda fly wheel.
Transmission work->ATS final gear(secondary mission) install.
Differential work->Jet's final gear install(ring/pinion)

Zero problem with all that works, imagine that.
And he is very detailed and thorogh and gets the job done very quickly. If you want the aftermarket parts installed, I wholeheartedly recommend him to work on your car as well as any maintenace work. The only thing he doesn't do is the custom job, I believe.

If you are interested in him working on your car, pm me or e-mail me and I will give you the number to call and the address of the place. The shop is located near 7 corner shopping center near Home Depot.
