Recommendation in buying an used s2000
Hello All,
I am in the market of an s2000(yes I already read the sticky) but I want the actualy input of some experts here:
Car 1:
2003 64k miles rebuilt title. Front collision, new front bumper, new fender, carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber wing, patched roof and tear in driver's seats. Price $8750, I still did not drive it so not sure there(it was raining when I went to see it). Previews owner fixed the car in his own shop and it is a younger person.
Car 2:
2001 114k miles clean title. Soft top upgraded to glass rear window. Speakers added behind driver and passenger head rests for highway driving(his ad). I am looking at this one today. The price is $8900.
I understand that car 1 means I should keep it for a long time, since selling will probably mean some kind of monetary loss.
Only cons that I have so far in car 2: is that is older and the higher milage.
Any input will be appreciate it.
Thanks
Tona

I would not touch the first one based on condition, history, and unknown quality of repair work. If the second one is in good condition with freeway miles, it would be my pick. Stick to the purchase FAQ, with emphasis on maintenance history. If it has been serviced well that vehicle has a lot of life in it.
i wouldnt touch that first one with a 10 foot pole, even if the car has 0 structural damage its still a salvage title. it could drive like a champ but its still gonna be worth less no matter what you do to it. 2nd one ftw, im assuming around 9 is your budget?
