I need to confirm what, if any, discount my insurer will offer on window etching. If the discount is there, I may go for it.

The dealer I'm using is selling a product called 'Universal Security Guard' which is basically ten high-tech 3M stickers placed on various parts of the car.

It comes with a $5,000.00 policy (5 years) if car is STOLEN, and not recovered in 30 days.

Cost is $249.

It offered by Universal Underwriters Group (Zurich Financial)

Also, is anybody familiar with dealers or web-site which offer this service...I didn't have much luck with my search.

I think that etching is tacky as hell.

I wouldn't do it.

 

The stickers don't go on the windows. They are applied to the body panels, doors, hood and trunk. They are appox. 1" by 3". None intrusive if you ask me.

check the post that say "399 worth 5000" I just explained pros and cons of it. My dealership uses that brand of etching too.
