I've got some Costco jack, I think it's an Arkan. Mine won't fit under the front either. So, I bought some 1.5" x 10" pieces of wood and I drive the front end on these. With the added height, any jack will work.
now change a flat tire like that.

I can't say for sure on an S2K, but on most of my other cars a flat tire prevents using that method. (simply because it's too low again)

If I had a flat, I'd just use the factory jack. Why would you need to jack the car up from the front?

I also just drive up on 2x10's. Or, I'm sure jacking up on side of the car with the factory jack will work.

Well I actually meant to jack it up using the side jackpoint..

Yes the faactory jack will work, but it's not exactly ideal.

Little confusion here. There's a jack point under the car, basically under the engine. And then there are the 4 corner jack points.

I use my wood when I need to jack up the front end using the chassis jack point. You know for fluid changes.

Just to let anyone know who is interested. I went to my local Sears, they had this jack on sale for $29.99, it was a 2 1/4 ton, it was in a plastic case, says it is "portable"

Fits under my car perfectly, both front and back, with PLENTY of clearance. Also picked up some jack stands for $15. So got em both for $45. They are made by craftsman. It was the only jack that said it had a starting height of 4.5 "

The jack is black, comes in a plastic case with handle.

If anyone local wants one, or tries to call their store, there were still 3 left in vernon hills, il.

I use the Sears aluminum jack and just have two 18" 2" by 8" handy to drive up on.

Fantastic jack. Although I have no problem picking up my S2000, nor my 2 friends slammed RSX and M3.

Great jack. Costco also sells an aluminum jack, which is quite nice as well. If you want to save a few bucks, you can get the steel one....its a lot heavier, but you dont really pick jacks up often, so I think its ok.

I don't consider having a flat tire ideal.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've had more than my fair share of flat tires (not necessarily on the S) and most of them needed changing away from my residence. Considering that some S2000 owners have removed the factory jack and tools from the S to lower weight or save space, I doubt ANYONE is driving around with a floor jack in the trunk of their S in the case that they get a flat away from home.

That said, I'm in the market for a floor jack and I would prefer to buy ONE jack that is low enough to fit under the S with an OEM lip and high enough to set either of my cars (S and '98 Civic) on high enough jackstands to do clutch/tranny work if needed WITHOUT having to use ramps, blocks, or any other equipment to get the jack under. I'll consider a second floor jack if I lower the S or if I need a light-weight racing jack.

Would you be taking the jack to the track? If not, look into the AC Hydraulics jacks I posted about above. If you will be taking it to the track, get the $129 Harbor Freight jack.

The AC has a lowest height of 3.1" but you can get the high lift version (still 3.1" lowest) that lifts to 30" which is plenty for most jobs.. well more than enough really but it never hurts.

The HF jack is 3.5" min but only 17.5" max height, but it's aluminum and great for taking with you.

The AC jack is steel and HEAVY.
