the red area flashes wheen you redline right??

i just went through the search bar and found some info but i just want to make sure i didnt over rev....
so it's suppose to flash when you redline im assuming??

You get three flashes before the rev limiter kicks in. I shift when I see the first flash.

How far past 9,000 does this occur?

I've taken the tach up to that number, or a little bit past, a few times now and still have not been able to produce the blinking lights.

past 9000, the light blinks. if you don't shift, the car will jolt due to the rev limiter.

I feel like it starts flashing right after 9000. It all happens very fast in first gear though. Its easy to see when shifting into second.
