Default Regrets on S2000

Would I regret purchasing a '00 or '01 S2000, since it doesnt have a glass rear window with defroster?

I'm trying to save money by getting a used one and I cant justify paying $34,000 out the door for a brand new one.

How much would a used S2000 with under 25K miles go for?

Nope. Should have no regrets with any year S2000.

I believe the Kelley Blue Book online is listing S2000's (2000-2001) at about 28k-30k for under 25,000 miles.

I hope I placed the link in correctly. It was my first time. Sorry if it doesn't work. But it is kbb.com

I bought my 2002 S2000 for $29.500 out the door ...MSRP should surely be w/in your grasp.

The Mid-West has generous deals on S2000's; they cannot seem to get rid of them. Good luck.

Why don't you ask around in the Mid-Atlantic Forum? I'm sure you will find a more detailed answer there as far as the MD/DC/VA area is concerned.

Personally, I was willing to travel to save a few thousand dollars.

Invoice is $29,145. Wouldn't that mean the dealer took a loss??

Man, I think I'll hold out to buy mine then, even if I have to travel to get it. Screw MSRP.

Actually, I believe dealer cost is 28K and MSRP is 32K. Anything over 28K is profit to the dealer. The problem is that many dealers will not "deal" on the S2000 at all. They have a take it or leave it attitude, especially here on the east coast where it is easier for them to sell the car. I paid 33 for a MY 01, but have never regretted it in the least. I love the car. As for having the non glass rear window, it all depends on how often you plan to drive the car in the winter weather. I keep mine in the garage over the winter, so it is a non issue for me. The plastic doesn't get all that scratched, and there are products on the market that clean up plastic windows really well. Also, my top is down all the time. Rarely do I put it up, except for the rare sudden rain storm I get caught in.

Good luck with your purchase. You will love the car like all of us do.

I saw a 01 for sale on the dealers lot. The whole car looked good except the rear plastic window, which was awful.

I LOVE my rear window, and I'm glad I WAITED for this to be added to the 02.
