Not really. The fiberglass version isn't too bad compared to the OEM. The CF version is hella expensive.

It's probably better to describe the differences between the different HT models:

OEM is aluminum, a wide glass rear window, has a rear window defroster.
Mugen is fiberglass or CF, plastic rear window, no defroster.
J's? Dunno. The 3rd party hardtops are mostly similar to Mugen's.

Me? I prefer the OEM hardtop (and I own one).

hi, I'm new to this site, I was wondering if anyone knows of a decently priced removable hard top for the S2000. I'd appreciate any help with a brand name name, a price or where to find a selection. Or, even if someone knew where to find a good used one even though I'd rather get new. any help appreciated - thanks
as opposed to not removable?

I thought the Mugen FRP hardtop was about $4k while the CF is $5k...not that big of a diff...unless my numbers are wrong. There's also the Mooncraft hardtop, but there's no production version of that yet, nor pricing...it's currently only available to race teams, but original. I like my OEM.

The local Honda dealer (who has been great from the start) just returned my payment for a hardtop. It seems that I was number 11 on the waiting list with Honda USA for a Suzuka Blue one and the hartops were back ordered because of the manufacturing delay in Japan. Their rough estimate was aprox. 6 months so they made the refund. Hopefully production will get going and tops will be available again.

That could be true. About a year or so ago I saw a price posted for a Mugen fiberglass HT and said to myself, that's not much different than the OEM MSRP.

I cannot remember if it was for a new or used one.

I think you need some mounting kit depending on what year it is.

yes you need a mounting kit based on your year - it's about three hundred bucks for the two brackets in the rear and a wiring harness for the rear window defrost
