Default Remove soft top for hardtop?

Well if all goes well, I'll be getting my hardtop tomorrow night from a member on this board. I searched and read how a lot of the track people remove their tops inplace of the hardtop and was wondering if those people regretted it what so ever? I was thinking about removing the soft top and create more of a 'storage' space in the back but wasnt quite sure if i should or shouldnt do it...

also, how hard is it to remove/re-install the soft top?

thanks
ray

Didn't you buy the car "to be a convertable"?...

During the summer months and such, it's fairly simple to remove the hardtop and go topless - but i'd be pretty scared to do it if there was -any- chance of rain whatsoever, without having the softtop installed..

then just remove the soft top and make it a s2000 coupe and never take the hardtop off

i actually agree with you about liking everything about the S except it being a convertIble. i dunno, im getting used to it now.

but why would you want to remove the softop? weight savings alone?

unless im mistaken, you dont have to remove the softop in order to install the hardtop. right?

well search says soft top is about 45-60lbs. hardly enough weight "savings" for me on a street car to bother with.

yeah i was really doing it for 'looks' and for storage space, considering i drive to uva from nova almost every other weekend, its nice to have space...

i guess we'll see how it is for a bit with the top folded down and if i really cant stand the way it looks then out it goes...
