Default removing 1 wk. s2000 emblems.

I just bought a new set of black chrome S2000 emblems and put them on last week. However, I put them on quickly and they turned out uneven (looking from the sides).
I was wondering if there is any way I can remove them and stick them back on, using the adhesive since it only been on the car for a week ? Thanks in advanced for your suggestions.

removing them will be easy.

removing them without damaging and being able to reapply them will be more difficult.

good luck.

Heat the emblem and surronding area with a blow dryer...(not a heat gun !!!) to warm them up. They don't need to be blistering hot, and yes you can damage your paint with a blow dryer if you over do it. Use a piece of 10# test or lighter fishing line and gently "saw thru the adhesive. They'll come right off.

As far as reusing the existing adhesive...maybe you'll ge away with it, but if it were me I'd remove the existing and replace with 3M auto double sided from your local auto parts store...trimmed to fit.

Good Luck.

The 3M Trim tape will work perfectly. It wouldn't hurt to apply a little Goo Gone or Goof Off on the badges and let it soak for a few minutes before "sawing" them off too. You'll need it to clean off all the left over adhesive anyway and they'll come off very easy that way.

the shop manual has the exact dimensions as to where to reinstall if you can get one-
i would use masking tape to mark off where the badge is going before reinstalling to make sure you get it where you want it.

Use masking tape along the side marker as your level and parallel guide and measure both sides to be equal distance from the side marker! Good luck! My brother did the same thing but we painted his "S2000" logo flat black.

I will likely end up getting an S2000 in March. I was thinking of debadging the car completely so that there is no Honda identification in sight.

It's not that I'm ashamed of Honda and it's not that I'm trying to fool anyone, but I think the idea of re-badging the car as a baby Ferrari is hilarious. I was raised with Ferrari (father has a couple) but I can't afford one and wouldn't make one a daily driver even if I could.

I was thinking of putting the rectangular yellow tri-color prancing horse emblem on the nose in place of the H. I would put a small scuderia shield decal on each fender in place of the S2000 lettering. I'd put the chrome Ferrari lettering on the rear trunk lid, and I'd put a chrome prancing horse on the rear in place of the H. Of course, my car would be red.

I swear I'd do this totally as a goof -- and since the Ferrari club guys would get a huge kick out of it. But I just wonder how many days it'll be before some A-hole keys my car. Others will probably think I'm a wannabe.

What do you think? Bad idea or just plain funny?

Also cotemplating the license plate 224 GTS -- since it's a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder open top car. Another option is 224 TR. Do I need to explain that one?

are you really being serious? ......please don't do that to an S......maybe to a Escort or something......it would be like you were trying to belittle the world renowned S2000!.........I remember someone on here posting a pic of an S with BMW badges on it and it was just wrong!.....................I had the front and rear H emblems shaved off because I think that they distract from the contour of the car (mostly just in the front)......I left the side badges on though because I think they look good

I have no visable Honda badges on my car, just an "S" on the side , on the wheel center caps, on the steering wheel, on the front and on the back. People always ask me almost daily at stoplights, "What kind of car is that? " They all have the same reaction when I say Honda . They say "Oh" but like they are dissappointed it's not a Ferrari, it's almost like they loved the car untill they found out it was a Honda. I say go with your Ferrari theme you probably will pull it off half of the time but the other half of the time you will get violent haters hating you, I hate those haters they are so quick to hate! I saw a Chevette a month ago in good shape with nice wheels and a good paint job and when I got closer it had the corvette crossed flags but just said vette , I thought it was very funny!
