Default Removing Rubber Door Guard

My doors have had rubber edge guards on them for a couple of months now. The rubber is starting to crack so I am thinking of removing the guards. What is the best way to remove the sticky residue that is left over? Is Goo Gone my best bet? Will Goo Gone damage the paint? Are there any other solvents that you would recommend? Thanks!

Gasoline works great. Just wash and wax after.

Goo gone or 3M adhesive remover - neither should damage the paint.

I wouldn't use gasoline without washing all dirt and anything else away. I have spots on my bumper from gas dripping out of the nozzle onto the paint (even after I wipe it immediately). The spots might not be as prominent on other colours than GPW
