Default Removing Sidemarker Lights

Ok, I know that this is a dumb question but after looking at the sidemarkers lights and fiddling with them I do not see how they are removed? How are they removed? Thanks!

regards,
Michael

Push toward front of car and lift out back. Quite easy.

There is a spring clip but I can't remember which end (front or back) it's on, so you either push on the light from the back toward the front or from the front toward the back. It will only have "give" in one direction. When it does move, pull out the end you are pushing. Careful, the clip has been known to break.

Thanks! That was too easy. I did not want to force anything and either scratch or break something.

If you are on the drivers side, slide the marker forward about 1/8", then use a flat edge/blade screwdriver wrapped in a cloth and push it into the spring clip on the back of the marker (the side that is closest to the driver). You'll also see a little indentation on the drivers side of the marker so you can get an idea where the screwdriver goes. At the same time, use your fingernail to pull the rear (drivers edge) of the marker out....and..voila!! Repeat for the opposite side.

To refit new ones, watch the edges of the fender. The metal spring clip can chip the paint if you're not careful.

You guys all forgot to mention the importance of not dropping the wire harness into the hole....SHAME ON YOU!

Make sure not to let the wire slide back in the hole when you take it off the side marker.......it's a real pain to get back out.

I clip some small padded spring clamps to the wire. That way it can't fall back in the hole.

Please note: When re-installing be very (VERY) gentle as just 'pushing' them in WILL bend your fender!! I've seen it happen.
