Default Replace Hooks for the soft top?

Ok I just got my car two days ago and love it. The only problem that seems to be with the car is the fact that the girl that owned it before me tried to lower the top with out unlatching the top first. This caused the top to rip out two little grooves in the windshield where the top hooks into. This is making the top not fit as snug as it would normally and above 70mph causes an annoying whistle where the air is leaking. I was wondering if the piece is replaceable or do I just need to deal with the whistle?

(the hooks are fine, I want to replace the peice where the hooks "hook" into)

Thanks!

you can replace them with the hardtop strikers (hooks go into them on the windshield). they're tighter and seal more securely. don't know how much they cost, but apparently it's standard now on the MY04 onwards.

In fact, depending on when you MY2000 car was made, you may want to replace the strikers anyway because the newer ones are much stronger and suitable for the hardtop as well. If your strikers were from the original design, there was a TSB for replacing them several years ago, so I don't know if your dealer will still honor that and do it for free. Good luck.

Don't pay your dealer for the install. It's very easy. If you look up the .pdf for the hardtop install instructions, it will tell you how to do it. Takes ~45 minutes.

I would have at least taken it to a Honda dealer and ask about the TSB first. The worst they can say is "no", then you can order on your own. But if they will do the TSB, then you would have saved some money. Don't forget, TSBs are not the same as warranty, so even though your car is out of warranty, some dealer service managers will still perform TSBs for free for their customers.
