I didi mine last weekend. It's not that hard, just time consuming. I didn't take the interior out. It was kind of a pain in the ass putting everything back together with the roll bars and stuff but it was a time saver.

And do yourself a favor and get two rivet guns. They're like $10 and if one breaks, like mine, its really a pain to stop everything and get another.

Putting the top on is easy once you get the old one out. Removing the old top takes the most time putting the new one on took me less than an hour. After you put the new soft top on and put the top up you might have to pull it closed and latch it down until the fabric is stretched to its final shape. After it has been stretched out and fitted, you should have no problems with raising/lowering the top. Enjoy it, it is definitely worth doing it yourself and saving some $$.

Roommate just did his (MY '01)but he used an'04 top and apparently there is a difference of about an inch between the bars on the frame. He got it to work, but its not right (yet). Get a '02-'03 top. they must be a little different

I have a question about the rivet gun... I've never used one before, but is it taht thing that kind of looks like a big stapler? Hand powered?

Also, what other tools do you need? I think I"m gonna do mine next week!!! Can you give me more info on how you did it without removing the seats and stuff?

02+ tops are all the same. It is the 00-01 style that have different measurements.

I know this because one of the larger aftermarket manufacturers informed me of the slightly different cut.

Purchase a Robbins Brothers top designed for 00-01 S2000s. They are less expensive than OEM and offer a solid warranty.
