Default Replacing Rear plastic for AP1

My rear plastic is fogging up and i am thinking to replace the plastic.

the top is in great condition so i don't want to replace the whole thing just to clear up the rear.

Anyone know if they sell the clear piece just by itself?

where? price?

how bad is the installation?

one more misc. thing, how does this thing works? or does it work?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-S2000...sspagenameZWDVW

THANKS in advance

I just had my rear plastic window replaced today after it got cracked during the winter. The window cost me about $200 after tax from the dealer. I bought it from www.slhondaparts.com so its cheaper than most dealers and since I'm local I saved on shipping. Couldn't hurt to ask if your local dealership can pricematch it, I know the ones around here sometimes will. I was quote 6.5 hours of labor, cost me $480. So $680 total for me.

$680!?!?!?!? you should wait til someone local goes hardtop and sell their glass top with assembly. I bought mine for 900 and installed it myself. It is worth every penny. Oh, and i sold my old assembly and made some money back. So i was able to go glass much less than that $680.

Insurance paid for it, so I'm only out $70. Thought about getting glass, but no need. I'll spend that money on something else.

If this is all it's doing, why don't you just invest in a little time and elbow grease and bring it back? Then take care of it on a regular basis like you do the rest of the car? But if you're will to spend hundreds of bucks to replace something when you could just spend a few bucks and some effort, that of course, is your choice.

Well, you have to register on eBay first, then you log-in, go the item listing and place a bid or use the BIN feature. Then you create a Paypal account and send the guy money, he receives it, puts the item in a package and ships it to you...

From what I hear, this item actually does work for the plastic rear AP1s.

I have no personal experience though since I'm glass

If it's not cracked, you can clean it up,and have it looking as good as new, with a little Plexus,a little (much???) elbow grease, and for only a few bucks.!!!
When it's done,protect it with tint.!!!(static cling)

One thing I've found that helps is to fold forward the seat you're not in. That gives you a little more room to reach over or between the rollbars.

If the plastic is in really bad shape, you may have to clean it a couple of times to get it looking good again but as Xviper said, it can be done.
