Insurance is footing the bill however buying the Bride seats will allow for me to negate any deductible. There is a substantial price difference between OEM seats and aftermarket
BRIDE= Save money now, loose money later
OEM= Spend money now, gain money later

Pick one...

Another option is to have insurance replace with new OEM seats, then sell them and get your Brides. Nothing illegal, immoral, or fattening about doing that, as long as they were OEMs that were stolen. Should be able to get a pretty penny for new OEM seats. If they get stolen again (knock on wood), just replace with new Brides and you'll be honest as the day is long.

put in OEM, then replace with Bride's later. I loved my bride but when it came time to sell the car, I sold the Bride and put the OEM ones back in. Much easier to sell an OEM car than one thats modded.

The car wouldn't be salvage for stolen seats and cut in the soft top.
I personally think that the buyer of the car would determine the sale value of the car.
If it was me, 20, I would love the Brides and pay you what your asking, vs a 45 y.o man who thinks they are too stiff and prefers OEM.
Rumors have been posted on the forum that some companies have written off cars for the seats.

I might be way off base where but I thought it was something like, if the repair is more then 50% of the value of the car you might get a write off. Someone in the insurance business here would have to confirm. Might be different in Canada.

Go with the Brides. Used OEM seats are in the 5-1000 range - that doesn't even cover 1 Bride + Rails.

Before selling throw them in the FS section for FS/FT. Make money now and later. Not rocket science.

If he is gonna put the brides in he might as well do it now. He isnt gonna be able to sell OEM for anything near what the brides cost. Then when it is time to sell the car, sell the brides and get OEM seats.
