Another option is to have insurance replace with new OEM seats, then sell them and get your Brides. Nothing illegal, immoral, or fattening about doing that, as long as they were OEMs that were stolen. Should be able to get a pretty penny for new OEM seats. If they get stolen again (knock on wood), just replace with new Brides and you'll be honest as the day is long.

put in OEM, then replace with Bride's later. I loved my bride but when it came time to sell the car, I sold the Bride and put the OEM ones back in. Much easier to sell an OEM car than one thats modded.

I might be way off base where but I thought it was something like, if the repair is more then 50% of the value of the car you might get a write off. Someone in the insurance business here would have to confirm. Might be different in Canada.

i just got 8800 for stolen seats, broken door sill, stolen shift knob and cut top. minus deductible thats 7800 so basically i have alot of money to spend right now and that means new hardtop and cr seats plus lots left over. I didnt know that these seats cost so much but also its state farm they dont half ass on your parts an dmy car has 59k miles

If he is gonna put the brides in he might as well do it now. He isnt gonna be able to sell OEM for anything near what the brides cost. Then when it is time to sell the car, sell the brides and get OEM seats.

Before selling throw them in the FS section for FS/FT. Make money now and later. Not rocket science.
