Default Repost: Softtop Padding

So I noticed today a full month after owning the car (its an '04) that wear marks have developed on the passenger side behind the window. I know I had seen threads about padding this area to keep it from wearing more etc... However one of the things that blows about this board is the search function (IMHO). I've spent close to 30 minutes and havent come up with anything that talks about what material was used, how its applied, where it was bought etc...

Can someone help me out with this or at very least point me to the threads that would give me some guidance.

Thanks in advance

Well I made a trip to Michaels and found two different adhesive felts as well as a double sided adhesive and some foam padding. I put all three on a magazine and dug into each of them with a pair of scissors and used the one that seemed toughest on the top. Here are some pics of where the problems are and what I did to help keep it from spreading. It looks as if the edge of the top frame is what's rubbing the top so I put some of the foam on those edges as well. The drivers side is barely showing signs of wear but wanted to make sure I prevent it. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

Wrap a piece of soft bass box cloth or other suitable black material around the elbow that is the source of the problems and superglue it to itself to make a neat tube.

I originally used velcro but it didn't hold to well.
I have also removed the patch on the roof as it is not needed.

Can anyone let me know exactly what you bought and where from? I need some for a different area. I've already patched this area, lol.
