Default Requiem

Ah, tis a sad, sad day. My dad owns a strip mall in Charleston, SC, and some tenants got behind in rent (about 30k behind). They then proceeded to write a bad check. Now, this of course means that the sons of (explative delete) will spend a good long time rotting in a stinking jail cell, they filed for bankrupcy. And this of course means we won't see a dime of our money. And being the son, my s200 is the first thing to go, there's no point in strugglin for money for a car, no matter what it is. I said goodbye to it today , and i honestly cried. So now i have a budget of about 10-13 grand to spend. Since i'll never get anything to match the S, i'm thinking about just geting something much less shibby. After looking around a Ford Taurus SHO of all things has come to mind. Which for the money, they are a great melding of sport and luxury. If anyone else has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated. The only thing is my dad wants nothing later then '98 and no more than 15 k.

According to msn's carpoint.com, the '98 Prelude fits the bill.

yay, but the ford is much faster. 3.4 liter yamaha v-8 (yes, it's a 207) with 235 hp and 230 fpt. runs the quarter in 15 stock, not bad for something that is that ugly

have you ever thought of a smaller suv like the suzuki grand vitara?

if i got a daily driver, it would either be this (in white or black), or a vw corrado (in yellow)

If having an S2000 has taught you anything, it should be that accelerating quickly in a straight line is not the only thing to look for in a car. Given that, I wouldn't get the SHO unless that's all you're looking to do. I would much rather have a Prelude than one of those.

The Ford isn't for just a straight line...something is to be said for a police chasis, even if it is front a crap company. and there is no manual version. course, the only problem is to add insult to injury, the yamaha motor has some bootleg kind of v-tec thing it does with with the air intake. i dunno anything about it, if someone could enlighten it would be helpful
