The window looks half the size of the regular one. Most likely it should be an easy fit. Unless they changed the roof a bit too. The defogger must hook up at the hardtop's defogger so a switch will have to be run to the console as well.

Hmmm....my original topic/question was:

http://hondanews.com/forms/images/i...00+currenthonda

You guys/gals think that the rear glass window can be retro-fitted on the 00 and 01 models?

It looks do-able from the pics.

Rick or anyone chime in on this...please.

I wonder if those of us with brand new MY2001's could complain enough to get one for free?

The new rear window looks a heck of a lot more durable. Here in the not very sunny North of England I would certainly accept the trade-off of visibility for it. It would be so nice to have a demister without having to have the hard top on...

Some here in Japan say that Honda will introduce a convertible top replacement kit (with the rear glass window) in 2002 for the '99-'01 model. According to them, the price of the kit will be "moderate", but I'm sure that labor cost will be expensive.

Either I think this would require replacing the entire top? No? Or maybe just that piece?

I have a really good top shop guy. I asked him awhile back if he could swap out my window for a piece of glass. He said "Nope, not enough room."

the only way to retrofit the rear glass window is to change the all soft top.
