For the past couple weeks, I've been in touch with Tom at Rev Hard regarding the S2000 turbo kit they've been working on. They were supposed to show it off last weekend at IAS. I went to IAS for the sole purpose of checking out their kit, but they didn't get it done in time and there was nothing to see. So this week I called them and they said to come on down after work one day. So last night I drove 75 miles out to the ghetto in North Hollywood. Their shop is located in an alleyway.

The kit is not finished yet, so the car isn't running yet - therefore, no dyno/driving impression.

Click here for my review of their kit.

Click here for pictures of the kit.

Hehe - cool..

I'm definitely interested in seeing how this comes out. That engine mount intercooler seems a little strange though. It's hard to judge from the picture but the total volume of the thing seems quite a bit smaller than mine (which is imho, key to the whole kit combatting detonation and working properly).

The kit looks very clean though!

"I brought up the possibility of a water-air intercooler and was shocked that they simply did not know that a water-air intercooler could be used on a street car. They had heard of using a water intercooler on a drag car and filling it with ice, but they did not know you can run an isolated coolant system with its own radiator and use it for intercooling without ice. They acted at first like I was making it up. I told them this is how the Syclone and Typhoon were set up, but they didn't seem to know what those were. So I showed them pictures of the Vortech SC for the S2000 and it's water-air intercooler and they seemed pretty surprised that this could be done."

Ummm, I'm not quite sure what to say!! I'm at a total loss for words!

For the intercooler, is there any kind of air channeling under the car to direct the airflow? It's a pretty strange place to mount it for an air/air. Pretty cool site Rev. It's funny, I always thought you were some old guy with a name like "The Reverend"

All your base are belong to us.

The S2000 seems to be able to handle a turbo on stock internals, provided you keep the boost low (6-7 psi on pump gas).

Reverend,
Is that the tip of your lizards tails stuck to the glass in the pic titled frogarium_13.jpg??? By the way, your frogarium is pretty damn cool. I honestly thought it sounded a little corny until I saw it. Do you have to handle those frogs with gloves?
