Welcome to my world! I'm a S2000 owner in Hong Kong, where we drive on the left and shift with my left hand. It feels totally natural, of course, when you have been doing it all your life.

converting mine to rhd currently in NYC!
I currently have the JDM ECU, but im throwing codes that we think are related to the ECU malfunctioning. DO you by chance know if the AEM units work with the JDm cars?? From what i have read, the air pump works differently in the JDM ECUs and the fuel pump wire is different. I'm not sure how that will playout with an AEM designed for american cars
if you can make it to queens ny id be more then willing to let you test out my aem, thats what i will be running in mine so that it bypasses all the air pump and emissions crap, also the fuel pump wire is different on the jdm harness it needs to be moved a pin over, but with an aem it doesnt matter because the pin is for the immobilizer which an aem doesnt use. however for you with the jdm ecu and the full jdm harness it should b plug and play

U should just trade with someones s overseas. Im sure in japan, they do left hand conversions and that's unique over there. I always imagined driving a viper in japan is like seeing a r34 gtr here... breaking necks for sure

Its over 15 years old now - you can import a JDM RHD one from Japan to Canada and drive it in North America!

I thought it has to be older than 96 to do that. JDM cars will never pass emissions here. in PA there are some workarounds like registyering it as a collector car or a classic once it is 20 yrs old. Im still trying to figure out how i am going to pass. Might need to have a friend write a bill saying i spent $150 trying to make it pass and get a waiver for the year.. after that i'll need to stay under 5k to be emissions exempt

Most of those look silly too. I've even seen someone refer to their RSX as a "track RSX"... It had all this stuff, but has never and will never see track time.

I don't get the obsession. I prefer optimal driver placement in a "drivers car" and when you drive on the right hand side of the road, I'd prefer to sit on the side of the car that gives me the best visibility.

Whatever, to each there own, however, I will never get "status" when it comes to cars.

Is people referring to their car that never has and never will see the track as a track car silly? yes it is. Some do look stupid, and others look awesome.

Everybody loves to jump on the JDM bandwagon, spend 1600 on a wing and 6k+ on a body kit and some jdm wheels, but then love to bash people that do the jdm RHD conversion. They'll say they don't understand why, it's stupid, it has no advantage blah blah. How are you (not you specifically, I mean everyone that questions this modification) going to justify spending top dollar on JDM parts for the simple fact they are JDM, but then talk down on a japanese conversion. Not everyone does this, but i know plenty of people in my area that do. It completely baffles me. It may not be the best driving position for us here in the US, but in MY oppinion it's still awesome and unique. Haters gonna hate, I don't care
