Default Ricks Custom Engraving, How is it done?

Hey I'm seriously considering gettind a custom TI knob from Rick's, can someone help me out with these questions, since I can't get ahold of Rick via email.

Who does the artwork for the engraving?

Do i just tell him a font and what I want it to say and just hope it comes out good?

I want "Starbai" "S2000" on it but i'm not sure how, or if it would even be possible to have both on it with it still looking good rather than just a huge like billboard of stuff.

Do I get to see a proof?

If I can't get a hold of him via e-mail how can I talk to him about this?

What is the turn around time?

More questions to potentially follow.

This was the design I sent to Rick. It came out exactly like the pic. I believe it was laser-etched. The time issue was rather prolonged due to a mistake in shipping the wrong product and I purchased it during a group-buy. Maybe a month? Overall, the knob came out the way I imagined it. What does kind of suck is that the engraver didn't engrave it so that when screwed in, the artwork would face you. I've tried loctite and such, but none of it worked. I'm just glad when screwed in, it's just a little crooked and not upside-down.

What about for people who aren't good at drawing on a computer?

As for alignment. Install a set screw. That's what is done for my 6sp. engraving.

The way this works, is you create the design and supply it to us and we engrave it. We are not graphic designer in any way. shape or form. In fact, we don't even play one on TV.

So whatever you can design, we will be happy to engrave.

That is one thing we will not engrave. Honda owns the rights to that and has sued us in the past over our badges. So S2000 is a non-starter. Sorry

Alignment. All Honda shifters are not threaded exactly the same. Where the threads start on one is not the same. So there is no way to engrave the knobs with the design in exactly the right orientation. Since the knob is counter sunk, there is no way to use an OEM style lock nut. The solution is LockTite BLUE. Just a few drops and you let it dry overnight, and it stays put.

Also we only CUT the design into the metal. If you want it is color, you will have to paint it your self.

Hmmm...what's a set screw? Could you explain how this works? If you're referring to the OEM locknut, it won't fit with the countersunk knob.
