actually it would be the other way....black floormat on tan interior, i don't want to to change the entire interior, it's just rick doesnt have those custom floormats in tan to match, so i was thinking of black.

We are working on a match for Tan right now for both the leather and carpets. So then will be coming soon.

I have the black nylon floor mats from Rick, in my 2003 GPW with tan and black interior. I love them. I think I would have got the black mats over the tan, even if tan had been offered at the time I ordered. They offer nice contrast in the interior color scheme. One problem I had with the tan Honda OEM mats, was that they showed black heel marks from the soles of various dress shoes. I do not know if Rick's up and coming tan floor mats will do this, but I have had the same problem with tan OEM floor mats from Ford and Pontiac in past years. The black floor mats do show lint well, but I vaccum often anyway, so no real problem for me.

I have the Rick's nylon mats, and they fit well and look good, but they are an ultra thin pile, and I imagine the wool ones are a lot nicer. The nylon mats weigh next to nothing, and I'm a little worried that they won't wear very well. At least I bought them used for a good price

I'm not dumping on Rick's (I also bought an X brace of theirs, and it's a thing of beauty!), but I think that for such a high price, the pile of these mats should be very dense. There are some really nice mats on the market for more mass produced cars, and they go for something like $100/ set of 4. Granted, the cross brace covering design of Rick's and the Muz mats create a difficulty for manufacturing, but the price just seems kind of nuts to me vis a vis better quality stuff for the mass produced market.

cool, yea, i'm going to order the black ones then. tan is just too hard to keep clean, and especially the little bump on the passenger side, people seem to step on it all the time.

I have the wool mats and am very impressed with quality of the pile and the fit. The cost seems cheap compared to replacing the carpets. Every used S I looked at had carpet worn thru on the cross braces.
