Man yall make it sound terrible.........shucks tooo late no refund.

How about TODA? does it make yucky sound yalls talking about too? I ordered a TODA for "iHOP" for $999.00+TAX paid with Visa....a week later they tell me the price went up to almost $2,000!!! I said fucc it no deal....then this Ricks deal came up and I jumped on it......Did I make a MISTAKE????????.....

Is the sandy sound really noticeable at IDLE or at high rpm downshifting?

I just have a stock header on the S2000 but my experience with headers on old V8's is a metallic sound noticeable at low rpms (idling too). It is like someone tapping the header tubes with a piece of wood. At higher rpms, my cars were too loud to hear the sound if it was still there.

I had it. I liked it. Definitely lighter than stock. I, too, liked being able to remount the heatshield. My theory is it helped keep some of the heat from dissipating upward(let me think that ). I polished the stock heatshield... looked snazzy.

As for sound, I agree that the tone changes, however, I did not find it unusually tinny or unbearable. I run the Invidia exhaust with a test pipe so you know I'm not too worried about noise levels. The Mrs. loves the Invidia and didn't really notice that much of a change. I can still hear the whine of the supercharger, so maybe that skews my perspective.

I don't have one now... it was the prototype. By the time I had money to buy one, the entire initial run was sold out and had to buy a Comptech. Had one been available, I would have definitely picked one up.

I have it, I like it, and I didn't notice any increase in noise. If there was one, it wasn't enough for me to notice.

After installing, I was amazed at how smooth the engine seemed to run and quiet. I'm now running a Berk and a Sparrow, so it's not so quiet anymore. The gains are as promised, approx. 6 hp at vtec (evidenced at our Dyno day vs. other S's). You will notice the extra kick at vtec. If you looking for mid-range and can handle a little drop at peak (where do you drive the most), then Rick's is a great header for the money. If you've looking for pure peak, look to J's, Toda, etc.

The Rick's header is a great piece for the price.

I'm runnning Sparrow, megan testpipe, and comptech cai, and it seems loud. Do you drive with the silencers in or out of your sparrow? I get lots of looks when folks hear it though. I am also thinking of getting a header, but may go with J's racing instead.......dunno yet.

Thought you sold your Sparrow? Not running the silencers and I don't know if they'd cut down on the drone from the Sparrow. Probably would only put in the silencers if taking a long trip, otherwise it's not that loud and the drone is not annoying at higher RPM's. With the top down, it sounds great. If you're into peak, yeah, go with the J's.

My brother backed out at the last minute. We had the car in the garage on jackstands and he says " You know, that is a lot of money for me right now". I just give him this WTF look ......but its all good. I just decided to keep it like it is. He's keeping his Isuzu Vehicross anyways. My parents were going to GIVE him an 01 S, but he opted to take the Vehicross instead. Wish I had that option when I was 16!!!
