Default Ricks S Badges, they don't lie!

I put my Ricks S badges on this weekend. Drove with them on for the first time today. I got the black background with red S for my Sebring Silver/Red S2000. Looks REALLY sharp.

On my way in to work this morning(beautiful morning 60* top down) a guy about 4 feet above me in a construction pick up truck yells down to me:

"What kinda car is that?"

I was like:

"It's an S2000"

Then he said:

"Who makes it? Saab?"

I almost choked and replied:

"No, it's a HONDA" and took off.

I read all the posts about the comments people get with the "S" thinking it is a Saturn or something, and I have gotten my fair share of questions with the stock "H" Honda badge on already, but I didn't expect to have someone think it was a Saab!!!

Hats off to Rick because I thought the badges were pricey at $100, but they are truely works of art and look incredible on the car. VERY happy with my choice in colors(was a little nervous at first) and with the quality of the product. Kinda bummed that I missed the sale pricing by a few days though. Live and learn.

Can't wait to get my Voodoo knob now. If the posts are half as good as they are, and are true to life like the S badge posts I've read it really has to be a killer shift knob!

How did you fare with the installation? I already hooked up my wheels but have put off getting the body badges because I hear the stock '02 badges were more challenging to remove.

It was simple. Since the Honda badges have prongs, they really don't use much adhesive at all. It took longer to clean up the left over adhesive than it did to actually get the badges off.

Back when I had an Audi A4, I debaged that, and it only had adhesive(no prongs) and ALOT more of it. I had to use a hairdryer in addition to dental floss to get those badges off.

I just soaked the top and bottom of the H badge with adhesive remover and goo-b-gone. Then I went at it with the dental floss. For the rear it just came off and I reached inside and pushed out the plugs. The front was a bit more of a challenege as I couldn't see what I was doing. So I reached in under the top of the front end, and messed with it until it came out. It took longer to take the left over goo off my trunk than it did to remove both badges and take the goo off the front.

The actual install of the S badges was simple. I just lined it up, pushed it down lightly and then pushed it down hard from the center out using a 100% cotton polishing towel.

For reference, the S badges are just slightly smaller than the '02 stock H badges. maybe 5% smaller.

Hope this helps.

My silver on black badges are one of my favorite mods. I was out to lunch last week and was sitting on a patio with my car in plain view. 3 or 4 guys were walking around it and couldnt figure out what it was. One guy says, the S must mean it's a Sterling which is a British car, this other guy says no, its a Boxster S. you can tell by the S. I almost peed myself laughing at their ignorance but it's amazing the number of people who come up to me and ask "what is it" and this has been going on for 2 1/2 years with and without the S badges. Needless to say "I love it"

Don't get me wrong. I consider Rick a friend and his badges are absolutely TOP NOTCH!

But. . .

I just like the fact that the car is a Honda. I have the black chrome kit from Honda and think it looks absolutely stunning. Of course, it's my car and my opinion so I guess you can see where that goes.
