Default Riddle me this

Since an extended warranty does not cover wear items, such as bulbs, brake pads, rotors, etc..., would they cover our beloved 800+ HIDs??????
I love mine, but I would have a very hard time justifying to myself spending 800 dollars because one of my headlights was out!!!

you get the extended warranty for higher price items: transmission, engine, etc. it'll give more peace of mind (how much would you pay for that?).

A previous post recently discussed the longevity of the HIDs, estimated to be 9000-10000 hours. If true, that's got to be over 100,000 miles, I would think. It's probably not something you need to worry about. (I'm sure I'll eat my words if one of my lights go south tomorrow.)

Don't get me wrong, I will be getting an extended warranty. Just wondering, since our HIDs are kinda "special" do they still fall under wear items? If you look at it, everything in a car is a wear item.

i don't see them burning out soon unless they're defective in which case they'll be replaced...

I believe the HID bulbs are only about $200 (yeah right I can't believe I'm saying only $200 for a light bulb). That would be the part that isn't covered the remaining assembly should be covered.
