Default Ridiculus Price For An 02 Sebring? Help...

Hey I live in Johnstown Pa, about 2 hours from pittsburgh.. Found an 02 w 10k miles on it in sebring/black. The cars in great shape except for theres a curb gash in the front left wheel, a few nicks on the top of the rear bumper, and a full scrape on the front bumpers right bottom corner. The wheels gash is about an inch high and goes across the spoke. The nicks are nothing to worry about, and the bumper scrape took the paint completely off.. but cannot be seen unless its looked for. They are asking 26,900 for it.. i think they are fking crazy. What do you guys think i could get them down to on the car???? im not trading anything. Also, the stock S02s are on the front but then the owner replaced the rears with some bs tires, but with only 10k miles, does this mean the car was beat on??? thanks for the help.

S02's wear fast especially in the rear so I can't say if the car was beaten on.

I'd say drop atleast 2000 off that price. Tell them about the tires when bargining because S02's cost about $150 a piece. Also tell them to fix the rim.

pretty good mileage for an 02! They probably put on new BS tires because they knew they were going to sell the car and didn't want to fork up the cash. $26,900 is fairly high for an 02 with that mileage, did you ask them if the car was under a loan or not? They probably owe somewhere around that much if they are not willing to budge.

The price seems a bit steep, but aside from the minor stuff, it sounds like a pretty clean car. However 10k is a little fast to burn up a pair of rear S02s.

The price would probably be fair if the car was perfect, but with the few flaws you've mentioned. (Especially the wheel gash) They need to be a tad more realistic. Hang in there and keep an eye on the cars for sale board. you will find your S...

BTW the S02s have gone up now that they're discontinued. I just replaced my rears (@ 15k miles, and I drive hard!) and it was nearly $400 after tax and install.

I wouldnt go a penny over $24 for that car.

You will probably want to fix every flaw and that alone is going to run a chunk of money. It's also never a good idea to run mismatched tires so again you would want to swap those out.

It doesnt sound like these people are being realistic about the vehicle and it's condition. Hold out until the perfect car comes along you will know it at the time. If you ever have doubts about a vehicle purchase rule #1 says move on, there's always another one.

$26.9 seems hugh
Just for comparison MY01 cost me $22.9
Perfect condition @ 13.5 k miles, no scrapes or dings..
Mine too came with BS rear tyres!

I got my spa yellow 02 w/ 10k miles like 10,024 exactly, for 26... it didnt have any damage to wheels/tire, the paint was perfect except it looked as if someone had keyed the rear bumper but it was very minor and had been semi-taken care of, you can hardly tell unless your right up on it... interior was perfect i dont think it was a bad price personally...
