Right to own a S2K
Dealers should insist the customer can do a Heel and Toe and can shift up and down the gears without depressing the clutch before delivering the S2K.
If the customer does not know what a heel and toe is, than this customer should be directed to a non sports car dealership....
Any comments?

I agree that heel toeing is fun this car. Not so sure about speed shifting. Neither should be a pre-requisite for ownership.
IMO, the only pre-requisite on ownership should be that you are buying it with money you earned -- not your parents'.

All I can say is my first accesory was to throw my wrestling shoes in the trunk - they are SO comfortable to drive in...better feel than sneaks and your feet don't fall asleep like bare or stookinged
feet! They are also very close to the feel of a racing shoe, without spending big $$ (Sports Authority sells them for $30). Ok...ok...but you should try it before you criticise!

After selling family sedans for all these years, neither Honda nor the consumer is quite ready for S2000. I had driven Hondas for close to 10 yrs. I had two motorcycles in the past. I've done speed shift on the motorcycles. Never done a Heel and Toe or speed shift in a car. I will learn how to heel and toe soon. Not planning to speed shift with the S2000. It is troubling to think that there are S2000 owners out there that will never try to get more than 60% out of the car. The fact it is fun just to cruise around in is one of the qualities. It is also troubling to think that there are owners out there that treat it like any other car - neglecting to do the routine maintenance. Hopefully those cars will eventually end up in the hands of owners who appreciate it for what it is.

Hmmmm. Prerequisites, eh? I see it like this:
I work.
I make money for my work.
I take money to town.
I spend money on car.
I drive car home.
Nobody's business how I drive it (so long as it's legal).
Any questions?
