I was reading an article in April 08 Turbo Magazine page 72-76 about the final drive upgrades for the S2000. Funny thing is the article starts out "Shhh....interested in a dirty little secret the industry doesn't want you to know? There's a growing trend among aftermarket retailers unnervingly price gouging consumers while laughing themselves senseless all the way to the bank."

Well to make a long story short. I just happened to click on one of the links for one of the so called reputable online vendors here and sure enough they had ring and pinion sets that were close to $1000.

Funny thing is the article points out the ring and pinion set is designed by Mazda and can be ordered for 25% of the cost of some of the online vendors are posting on their sites.

I guess it hasn't made a difference to the vendors that still charge 1K for the same parts. I guess it pays to be informed

I'm not sure what your talking about, but the vendors I know, MK, HTG, ricks.

I dont see anyone with 1000.00.

 

As long as dumb but rich people continue to exist, these vendors will prevail.
