Default Rio yellow mood

Bright sunny day in SoCal. Haven’t driven the S in over a week.

Hopped in. Smelled that old Honda smell and plopped down into the tight cabin. Fired her up and cued some summer tunes. Pulled out of the driveway and eased onto the road. About 20 mins of enjoying buttery shifts, the sound of the engine under load, downshifting, taking a few aggressive corners and then got to my destination. Looked back and enjoyed seeing the rio yellow shining in the sun showing the simple but strong body lines.

Just a sublime driving experience. This car... Every once in awhile it puts me in a mood no other car can. This car is best experienced occasionally- spaced apart just enough to remind you just how special this car is- not just to get you to point B- but to enjoy driving it there.

I could not agree more except I have been getting that thrill for a number of months top mostly down in the Sierra Nevada and Hwy 1 along the Pacific Coast!

Research has proven that Rio Yellow Cars are faster, more comfortable, trouble free, attract more of the opposite sex, jump higher and are faster than a speeding bullet, able to leap tall buildings with a single bound!

Funny I may be headed to Northern California in a few weeks to check out those same roads.

Gotta love the S no matter the color. Just did about 100 miles in mine, 90 degrees out had the a/c going, car ran cool and a/c still cranks after 21 years and I have had zero issues with it never even had to charge it.

This is the beauty of an incredibly reliable older car. While it’s getting more collectible it’s not so precious. I take care of it but don’t worry about putting miles on it. It’s care free to enjoy and I love that.

The key is not to daily drive the S or else it becomes normal feeling. When you drive something else and then come back to the S it always feels different and special.

Yes I don’t want to curse it but everything in my S works just as perfectly as it did when it was new and the interior has held up very well. I’m surprised there isn’t more drivers seat bolster wear as I’m a big guy but it still is holding up well.
In addition to not daily driving it storing it for close to six months out of the year adds to the appreciation as well.

I call it the poor man's Porche.

Mine and your bolster are in good shape and I bet you and I get in and out the same way: sit down 90 degrees to the direction of the car and then rotate once seated. Reverse to exit. Easy peasy and does not stress the bolster.
