Default !!!!!!!!!!! Rip the leather seats!!!!!!!

In my passenger seat I have some rips thanks to my friend's coat zipper!!! (I think) It looks AWFUL! I cringe everytime I look over there. How would one go about getting this repaired? How much is a new seat?!?! I didn't have the heart to tell him because he basically loves the car just as much as me... God this sucks..

I am not entirely certain, but I believe a new seat is around $2500. There was a thread posted recently about someone who had their seats repair from a tear. Try a search.

A good leather repair/upholstery shop should be able to fix this and make it look like new. I recall AusS2000 describing how his shop Down Under was able to do this. I'm sure there are many such shops in major metropolitan areas of the US.

i believe the leather bottom COVER of the seat costs around 500 bucks and the leather top COVER part costs around 700. So you may be better off in just getting it repaired someplace. but you can buy just the part if you want to - for an extraordinary markup.

I know someone who once had a tear in the leather(not an S)and the place he took it to removed the seat and found some excess tucked around the back rest, cut it out and used it for the repair so the match was perfect.I doubt that we have much if any extra leather in our seats.

I have recently poked a hole in my seat with a screwdriver, so I know how you feel. You can get a new seat cover (bottom section) from www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for 545.95. I opted to take my seat apart myself remove the leather cover and bring it to the interior place we use for work.It is costing me 150 to glue to whole with leather adheasive and to have them re-die the leather. He said that would be the best bet. The other option was to remove the damaged panels and replace them. He said that perf. leather is twice as much as regular leather and it would be around 300-350 to fix it this way. This was with me just bringing him the cover. I could just imagine what it would of cost if I brought him the car and let them take the seat out and take it apart. Anyway I get it back tomarrow. I will report on how it turned out.
