Road & Track (April 2008)
While I see the logic behind this (for the most part the american consumer likes things as easy and ass wiping as possible), I too feel it is corny. Cool on a saleen and an s2000 as it is a subtle touch to add to the "feel" of driving a "race" car. However on soccer mom's murano, not cool. Although she does have alot to do (makeup, cell phone, hair) and turning a key just might not be an option. I"M ONLY FOR IT IF IT KEEMS THEM FROM RUNNING INTO INNOCENT CARS THAT NEVER SAW IT COMING.
dude a starter button is a hassle coz in addition to turning my key i have to go through the motion of pushing the start button all the way on the other side! wtf? but i love my starter button. i dont know why everyone and their mom wants one on their minivans and lexuses

I used to think the start button was just a gimick. However, I spun out in the rain during a track day at Laguna Seca this past January. My '05 S2k stalled (two in too late), but getting the car started and headed the right way was quite instintive. Clutch in, right hand shifting to first, left pressing START, all at the same time just happened and was much smoother then right hand juggling between the ignition and shifter. It's not a make-or-break thing, but it did help me get back going after talent gave way to sloth-like reactions...
