Rock Chips on Highway 17
During the recent roadwork on Highway 17 I received numerous rock chips. A friend that has a M3 has called CalTrans and they told him to get the chips taken care of and they would reimburse him. I have never heard of Caltrans doing anything like that. If this is true I will be one happy camper. I have a Silver/Black and the chips are not that visible but there must be 10-15 chips in the paint. He said that he can get the chips airbrushed out.
Does anybody know what Caltrans is liable for when they do roadwork?

Sweet.. though I hope I never get my car chipped.
Speaking of which, I'm getting my S2K at the end of december (a big bright yellow one
), so there'll be another one ridin' around the valley. I hope to meet you guys again-- maybe we should plan a little trip after new years?

I decided to go out-of-state, so I found it in New Mexico for MSRP.. I couldn't find anything in California anywhere near MSRP. I called about 20 dealers and the lowest price I could find was $37,700. They also claimed it was not possible to find one cheaper anywhere.

I wish those gravel trucks had to pay when they drop gravel while going down the freeway. The other day a gravel truck was getting on the freeway ahead of me and hit a bump and I thought my windshield was going to break.
I looked later that day and sure enough chips everywhere.
A-hole! One even chipped the headlight cover.
