I plan to time trial my new S2k at our local PCA event as well as AutoX at the local SCCA events. Roll bars are not an issue of course in SCCA Solo II events however the PCA time trail events are different where convertibles are run. The standard of course is functionality over style.
How is the S2k rollbar attached to the frame? Is it considered by Honda engineers to be a retardant to crushing on rollovers? Are there published specs detailing the rollbars mechanical functionality?
I am really looking forward to time trailing with the Porsche club and for obvious reasons and would be royally bummed if they didn't allow my S2k based on a misunderstanding of the rollbar strength.

In South Fl, BMWCCA and poc require 2 inches from helmet top to broom stick.

Sit in the car, helmet on, have someone place a broom stick from the top of the roll bar to the top of the winsheild and measure.

However, if you have an instructor, make sure you request someone short.

unless you are 5'5" or less, i doubt you will pass the broomstick test in the S2000. I am only 5' 11" and without a helmet, I don't pass.

The boxsters are required to add those lam-o hoops that would probably do nothing in a rollover, but....... they pass the broomstick test...

duct tape some 2*4's to the existing rollbar... they are probably just as sturdy as the boxster add ons.
