rollbar plastic covers
The passenger side plastic cover for the roll bar behind the seat sort of separated, the front and back plastic piece that cover the rollbar have slightly come apart. I was wondering if anyone knows how these two plastic pieces are held together, clips, glue etc?
I was thinking it might be glue too because when I press them together, I didn't hear any clicking or snapping noises, which it should have if they were held together by clips of some sort. Anyone who has taken them apart to install roll cages care to chime in?

Yes, they are NOT glued. They are welded together. A wire runs through the bead, and when current goes through it it melts the two parts together.
Some people have reported success at glueing them back together, but not with superglue. It requires a two-part epoxy designed for this type of plastic.

I didn't think something so obscure would garner so many responses, guess I am not the only one, but that is why I love forums so much, it is like having tens of thousands of techs on hand. So I guess, the two-part epoxy is the way to go? Does anyone else have any suggestions? As least, now I know how they were held together. Funny thing is, seems like a bad design to have these pieces glued together versus some bolt, esp coming from Honda which obsesses over minute details like this, guess there must be a good reason. Alternatively, I guess I can just leave it the way it is unless someone can tell me a good reason why that would not be a good idea. The only thing I can think of is rain getting in between the small crack, but the rollbars are painted right? So it should be protected from rust.
My passenger side has also separated. Tried using glue, but it eventually split again (I'm guessing the glue got soft from being in the top down heat so much). It personally doesn't bother me that much since it's not something I have to look at all the time so I haven't tried to put it back together yet. Let me know if you find something that works.
