Default Rotors removal question?

hey, Question for the experts. I was wondering if there is any way I can remove the rotors without an impact wrench? I got a BBK and I was gonna do the swap myself. But I don't want to buy an impact wrench just so I can remove that screw that's holding the rotors in. If it wasn't for that, it's an easy job.

have you guys tried anything that may work? please share....

You don't need an impact wrench, you need an impact driver. Two different things. Basically its a large screwdriver that you bang with a hammer. I got one at Sears for 20 bucks.

I saw a friend of mine take off the rotors without an impact screwdriver. He just used a screwdriver and a hammer. While hitting the screwdriver, he turned it just a bit.....the ghetto way...

The rotors are referred to as "fall off rotors". They come off of the hub without removing the center spindle nut. They should only be held on by two screws. But as pantyraider said, a impact screwdriver will work wonders for you.

Just buy or borrow an impact driver. They are cheap, probably less than $15.

yes just by an impact driver...I attempted mine without it...

lets just say, I'll never do that again. I ended up only being able to get one rotor off the normal way, the other 3 I ended up having to drill out the screws and it took me FOREVER...not worth it. Impact driver is definitly worth the $15 after trying to do it without one!

We just went through this today. Ended up buying an impact driver set for $8 from Autozone.
