RS-R Ti2000 Q & A
I have recently installed a RS-R Ti2000. And I want to let people know how it is.
Q1. Specification of Ti2000 says that it lowers 15mm~20mm for front and 30mm~35mm for rear. Wouldn't this give unbalanced look?
A1. No. OEM setting have unequal setting which is about 1-inch higher at rear comparing to front; about 14.5cm at front and 17cm at rear. By installing Ti2000 it actually evens out s2k's height. Measurement from my s2000 came out to be about 1cm higher at rear with Ti2000. (since its been only 3days from installing ti2000 it will probably change a little bit more)
Q2. What will the actual height of S2000 will be with Ti2000 (with stock damper)?
A2. At this point my s2000s height came out to be about 9cm from ground to jack-up point. From ground to side seals (i don't know if I spelled it correctly) if i remeber it correctly it was 11cm at front and 12cm at rear.
Q3. How about the clearance between tire and fender?
A3. I haven't actually measured it but for front I'm guessng about 1inch or little bit more. For rear I can't put in my finger straight.
Q4. Any tire and fender rubbing issue?
A4. So far I don't have any rubbing issue. But I haven't took it for alignment. If camber is fixed to oem spec probably it will rub.
Q5. How often will car scrape by lowering with ti2000?
A5. So far I scraped at speed bump at super market and also when I was going in to my driveway. For driveway it actually scraped at sidewalk when the ground start to level up. I could avoid it if I go very slowly and diagnally, but for speed bump I couldn't do anything with it so I just avoided it by choosing alternate way.
Q6. Handling?
A6. Way better. If you have technique comparable to those professionals than I don't know. I heard that for driver with advanced technique oem s2000 handling is very neutral steered. But for amatuers it feels over steer so for amatuers like me, it is great. Personally it is neutral steer.
That's about it. I really recommend RS-R Ti2000. It levels the S2000s height and also is I haven't confirmed but it is about 25% lighter than other general springs. I read in book that weight reduction of 1kg from suspension and tire parts are equivalent to 12kg weight reduction from other parts from car. Which means it is 12times effective. Highly recommended
