Took my wheels off last weekend and had a look at the suspension. Apart from everything being covered in a white salt residue, the upper A arms in the front look like they are starting to rust badly.
My car is only 5 weeks old and shouldn't be rusting like this!! I mean, the WHOLE A arm is covered in rust. What would it look like if it were to endure a whole winter? This is only after 5 weeks!!
You can see it in the upper right corner of the photo, and on the bottom.
Is this a warranty item, anybody?

That looks like 5 years of rust not 5 weeks. Even in the crappiest of conditions and even if you put salt and lemon on it it shouldn't rust that much in 5 weeks. Try brushing it off, maybe it is just surface break dust.
Yes, it does look bad, but I suspect that it is simply surface rust and hasn't affected the integrity of the A-arm. Even so,I'd have the dealer have a look to make sure it is OK. Maybe you can convince them to clean it and repaint it if it is only cosmetic.

. Seriously, how much do you think a nice, forged aluminum set would cost. That would be paying homage to our NSX big brother.

Driving any vehicle on salted roads will result in an incredible amount of undercarrige corrosion. When the weather warms up a bit, the process will accelerate even more. The aluminum cases for the differential and transmission, as well as the engine will begin to pit. Living in Wisconsin, I face the same problem. My only solution has been to store the vehicles I care about before the salting begins. If you must use your s2k for winter driving, wash the undercarrige frequently.good luck.
I feel your pain, but the only thing we can do is wash repeatedly...

We'll be putting the Penske shocks in next week, so there will be allot of cleaning going on! I plan to coat some peices with a light oil as well. Another problem is the black undercoating on the underbody - it acts as a rock-catcher! Covered in gravel. yikes.
It's hard to keep the underside of your car clean!

Last weekend I cleaned the underside of my car. Now remember, my car has very low miles and it has been driven in the rain about 3-4 times. My car has never seen snow. I had what appeared to be rust on the A-arms as well. It came off for the most part with a little scrubbing with a wet rag. I was a bit surprised by this too.
I also don't know why Honda put the sticky black crap all over the rear wheel wells. The fronts are so easy to clean being all plastic.
